WEEKLY SEMINARS
Every Thursday a BASIC investigator or an invited investigator (from UCSF or other institutions) presents data on their most current and exciting research followed by a general discussion of the implications for head and spinal cord injury.
Once per month, the seminar follows the morning Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic and focuses on problems related to head injury specifically. A wide range of folks participate in these sessions including clinical and basic investigators, clinical care personnel including social workers involved in providing continuity for these patients as they enter the community after leaving the hospital. These sessions are followed by a radiological review session of patients participating in the morning clinic.
ANNUAL NEUROTRAUMA SYMPOSIUM

Every fall, the Brain and Spinal Injury Center holds a multi-disciplinary symposium on the current topics in traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury. This is an all day affair that is currently held on the UCSF Mission Bay campus. Typically, eight to ten specialists throughout the Bay Area present their latest research findings or treatment protocols. This is a day of education and collaboration amongst the neurotrauma specialists.
