A third-generation Benicia, California native, PJ earned a BS in Animal Science with a pre-veterinary concentration from Cal Poly, SLO. Her varied animal experience ranges from mice and rats to pigs, horses and dolphins in a variety of disciplines including husbandry, behavioral training and analysis, pre and post-operative care. She was first introduced to Neuroscience via the Franklin Laboratory at Cambridge University followed by the Bresnahan/Beattie lab with BASIC where she worked on the Data Commons project in its infancy. Twelve years later, she returned to BASIC in the Ferguson Lab to continue working on the burgeoning project. With a brief detour into the wine industry, she is eager to employ her customer service experience to benefit academia and help fellow scientists optimally utilize these systems.
