Abel Torres Espin, PhD

Dr. Torres Espin is currently working as an Assistant Adjunct Professor at UCSF. He focuses on developing data science and machine learning solutions for multi-domain data integration, data sharing, data reuse and reproducibility, as well as applied bioinformatics and analytics for getting insights from complex biomedical and health data. Abel received his PhD in Neuroscience from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona where he focused in spinal cord injury. He specializes in neuroinformatics, bioinformatics, and biostatistics with the hope to facilitate the work of other researchers by simplifying the process of complex data integration, data collection and analysis. Dr. Torres Espin is interested in developing data solutions and making use of already collected biomedical and health data to get new discoveries, speed up bi-directional translation and medical implementation, and make transparent and free access to science.
